There are lots of ways to get to your wilderness wedding in Swedish Lapland and one of our favourites is by reindeer.

Reiner and Annett had a spectacular day for their March wilderness elopement. It was a bright, warm, sunny day which is not always the case in March.

When we use reindeer for weddings, we work with local Sámi tourism and cultural organization, Nutti Sami Siida. The organization began in 1996 after bad grazing in the winter forced the founders to feed reindeers in corrals instead of herding them in the woods. They began taking visitors to the corral and a wonderful learning experience was born.

The reindeers we use for weddings have been tamed and trained. Before snowmobiles, reindeer could be used to pull sleds through the heavy snow. So this skill of taming and training has been passed down through generations.
Part of the experience of using reindeer for your wedding is the meet and greet you get to do beforehand. Dressed in your wedding clothes, you meet and learn how to handle reindeer so you are all comfortable. It’s quite a magical experience.

Using reindeer as wedding transportation means we can choose any location in the forest for your ceremony. The freedom to be able to set up in any spot means your wedding or elopement will be one of a kind and just yours.
